In a major success against drug trafficking, the Paharipura Police Station of Faqirabad Division conducted a targeted operation late last night and arrested an internationally notorious drug smuggler.
On the special instructions of senior police officials, the operation was led by DSP Faqirabad Circle Umar Afridi and SHO Pahari Pura Police Station Ahmed Allah Khan along with other police personnel. During the raid, the police apprehended Bahadur alias Bahadre a resident of Dalazak Road.
The arrested suspect is a key figure in the international smuggling of ice, heroin, hashish, and alcohol. He has been wanted in connection with numerous serious criminal cases registered over the years.
During the operation, an accomplice of the arrested individual managed to escape after opening fire on the police team. Police have launched further efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
The statement said that police was taking indiscriminate action against drug traffickers and criminal elements to ensure peace and security in the city.
