In a swift operation, the West Police Station, under the supervision of DSP Cantt Circle Dost Muhammad Khan, arrested the accused involved in a murder just hours after the crime took place.
According to police statement, the incident occurred when Haider Zaman, a watchman at a market in Sadar Bazar, shot and killed Shah Waiz, a salesman at a shop, following a verbal altercation.
The accused, Haider Zaman, was apprehended by SHO Sharqi (West ) Police Station Noor Muhammad Khan, who led the investigation and tracked down the suspect within hours.
The murder weapon, a Kalashnikov, was recovered from Haider Zaman’s possession and was currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation, police said.
The victim’s brother, Muhammad Idrees, filed a complaint with the West Police Station, reporting the tragic murder of his brother Shah Weiz. A case was registered, and authorities launched a prompt investigation into the matter.
SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif took immediate notice of the incident and ordered the formation of a special team to ensure the swift arrest of the murderer.
Within a short period, the team was able to apprehend Haider Zaman, who, during initial questioning, confessed to the crime.
