Provincial government urged to save marble sector

PESHAWAR: Sahil Khan Salarzai an active leader of Marble Mines and Industries owners association had urged Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to realise its responsibilities in saving the Marble industries which are taking its last breaths due to stock of issues and wrong delusions on the part of rulers. Through a press statement on Tuesday, Sahil Khan states, that there are some six thousand marble factories in Pakhtunkhwa. It is mostly private sector. According to him the Marble industry is the only sector after the production of honey in Pashtunkhwa where 100 percent raw material,labour, artist belong to Pashtuns. He added that in this industry four lakh Pashtuns are employed at this time but unfortunately, due to the high electricity and insecurity, sixty percent factories are closed and one lac people are unemployed in the last month due to some of Marbles. According to factories, one unit of electricity was calculated at Rs. 8 hundred. But Sahil Khan while showing irony over lacking of proper attention to this important sector which play a key role in provincial economy. APP
