Provincial minister for elementary and secondary education department Faisal Khan Tarakai has said that a decisive action will be taken against teachers of those government-run schools who failed to deliver satisfactory performance in the recent matriculation exams results.
The decision was taken in a meeting held here with provincial minister for education Faisal Khan in the chair.
Additional secretary education department Fayyaz Alam, director IT Salah Uldi, Additional Director Dr Muhammad Iqbal and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Faisal Khan Tarakai ordered district-wise details of underperforming teachers, warning that legal action would be taken against those who fail to show satisfactory results in the matriculation results.
Those who failed to improve will face transfer to distant schools, closure of increments, warnings and eventual dismissal from service, he added and said emphasized the importance of education and good results, Minister Tarakai urged all teachers to play a positive role in improving academic performance.
The meeting also reviewed rationalization and teachers’ e-transfer policy and decided to recruit more than 400 more computer operators to effectively implement the e-transfer policy of the provincial education department and make the system more functional.
Education minister also expressed his anger towards teachers who have taken extended leave or are on deputation from their duties. He directed the authorities to prepare a comprehensive report within a week, identifying all employees who fall into these categories. Immediate action is to be taken against those individuals, as their absence is causing valuable time to be wasted for students.
He emphasized that these teachers will not be exempt from consequences, and that action will be taken. Teachers are crucial to schools, and their presence will be guaranteed at all times.
