MARDAN: Pakistan Tobacco Board (PTB) on Thursday organized a workshop for the tobacco growers of the district. The workshop, which was held at PTB’s Shergarh site, informed the farmers about the novel technology intervention in the production of tobacco. The Director R&D, Officials of PTB and company’s representatives apprised the farmers of different aspects of improving production and quality of tobacco in their respective areas of the district. The speakers of the workshop shed lights over the different processes required for a better production. They informed the farmers about the Seedbed Management, Land preparation, transplantation and best cultural practices. Hybrids, fertilizers, disease and pest management, leaf picking and curing of the tobacco were discussed in detail in the event. A number of tobacco growers attended the workshop. DLP Report
