PESHAWAR
Relief operations for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) stranded due to snowfall in Tirah Valley have been intensified under the supervision of the district administration.
According to district officials on Sunday, all routes leading to Tirah Valley have been cleared and relief goods will be provided to the affected IDPs starting on Monday. Supplies received from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) will be distributed through vehicles, with priority given to women and children.
During distribution, families along the routes are being provided with winter kits for children, including sweaters, jackets, shoes and warm caps. Sources said that around 200 families have already received these kits in various areas. In addition, food items and fruits are also being distributed among all affected families.
Health department teams are conducting medical check-ups and providing essential medicines in different locations.
Meanwhile, route clearance operations are still ongoing in some areas and will continue until all routes are fully cleared.
The district administration has advised residents of Tirah Valley to avoid unnecessary travel due to prevailing weather conditions.
