PTI senior leader and former Punjab minister Syed Samsam Bukhari on Tuesday announced parting ways with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and joining IPP. Jumping off the sinking PTI ship like other stalwarts, Samsam Bukhari condemned the May 9 vandalism before saying goodbye to the party. Bukhari maintained: “I don’t believe in politics of violence as all institutions are ours and we have to work together.” Bukhari also held a detailed meeting with IPP Chairman Jahangir Tareen in which other leaders including Awn Chaudhry and Numan Langrial were also present. Besides, PTI deserter has now decided to join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) after meeting with President Jahangir Tareen, Aoun Chaudhry, and Numan Langriyal.
Samsam Bukhari is expected to officially announce his joining the IPP in a few days. It may be mentioned here about a week ago, a audio leak of Samsam Bukhari about May 9 protests had surfaced in he could be hear saying: “They held a core committee meeting three days ago in which they planned all this.”
“[Shehryar] Afridi and [Qasim] Suri were present in the meeting,” he had said, adding that Murad Saeed was the “dirtiest person”. “They designed in the meeting that every protest will be directed against the army,” he had said. “Thank God that I was not there. I have a very good relationship with Yasmeen Rashid,” he added. — DNA
