SC adjourns hearing of petition against indictment of Imran, Qureshi in cipher case

ISLAMABAD
Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned the hearing of petition against indictment of PTI founder Imran Khand and Shah Mehmood Qureshi in cipher case. The hearing has been adjourned on the request of PTI lawyers.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Sardar Tariq Masood took up for hearing bail plea of founder PTI Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi and petition `against their indictment in cipher case Friday.
FIA prosecutor told the court notice has been issued on the bail plea of Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Acting CJP remarked we just now issue notice. Why are you in haste. Prosecution is in the court. We are issuing notice to state for today.
Suleman Safdar counsel for PTI founder said the trial of our case runs till 6p.m. The trial runs even after court’s timings.
Justice Sardar Tariq Masood remarked people say cases don’t run. Your case is running but you have objection. We dispose of the petition related to indictment being in -fructuous.
Counsel Suleman Safdar said Hamid Khan has made amendment in the petition. It should be taken as new petition now.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked how can we hear the amended petition before High Court. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked Dec 13 indictment in cipher case has not been challenged.
Counsel Hamid Khan said please wait for today’s proceeding of high court.
The Acting CJP remarked if high court acquits even then nothing can be done on this petition. The petition against the indictment has become in-fructuous
The counsel for PTI said give us adjournment today. May be I withdraw the petition against indictment on next hearing.
The hearing of the petition against indictment in Cipher case was adjourned on the request of PTI counsel.
