Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Fuad Ishaq and Chief Secretary Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry have decided to establish liaison between chamber and CS office to promptly resolve business community issues.
The decision was made during a meeting presided over by SCCI’ President Fuad Ishaq on the occasion of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry’s visit to the chamber house on Wednesday. Leader of the Businessman Forum former senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour especially participated in the meeting.
On this occasion, Senior Vice President of SCCI Sanaullah Khan, Vice President Ejaz Khan Afridi, Special Secretary Finance Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Abidullah Kakakhel, Advisor KPRA Fazal Amin Shah, Former Presidents Zahidullah Shinwari, Faiz Muhammad Faizi, Malik Niaz Ahmed, Former Senior Vice Presidents. Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, Shahid Hussain, former vice-presidents Naeem Butt, Shuja Muhammad, Haji Abdul Jalil Jan, executive committee members Affaf Ali Khan, Naeem Qasmi, Muhammad Ismail Safi, former chairman APCEA Mushtaq Ahmed, FMCG office bearers Khalid Farooq, Atif Shahzad, Imtiaz Ahmed Ali, Syed Jawad Hussain Kazmi, Khalid Sultan Khawaja, Business leaders Habibullah Zahid, Haji Naseer, Syed Aftab Hayat, Sadar Gul, Ishtiaq Muhammad, Fazl Wahid, Aftab Iqbal, business leaders, industrialists, exporters and importers were present in large numbers.
Fuad Ishaq in his opening remarks informed the meeting about reservations of the business community over the implementation of two percent tax on exports by the provincial government, obstacles in mutual trade, transit trade, taxes through various provincial departments/authorities, undue harassment, harassment and fines under the guise of implementation rules and official orders, the precarious security situation, the implementation of various unnecessary taxes at the central provincial level and gave practical suggestions for their resolution.
SCCI chief emphasized on solving all the problems and issues through better policy and implementing business and trade friendly policies.
Ilyas Ahmed Bilour also spoke on this occasion and demanded the provision of all rights under his own soil. He said that the treatment of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like a stepmother should be stopped immediately.
The BF leader said that this province has made numerous sacrifices for the country and peace, the people and the business community here should be given facilities and privileges. He called for the abolition of all unnecessary taxes and the implementation of business-friendly policies.
Later, while addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry agreed with the proposals of the SCCI president and emphasized on strengthening the links between the Chamber and the bureaucracy for quick resolution of the problems.
The Chief Secretary said that facilitating business and trade and removing the difficulties of the business community are among the top priorities of the government. He said that all the problems should be presented at the sector level so that they can be solved immediately.
Nadeem Aslam fully assured to solve all the problems related to business and trade and taxes by utilizing all the resources at the government level.
