Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Swat for Human Rights, Finance, and Relief Nauman Ali Shah, has won widespread appreciation from flood-affected communities for his role in the recent relief operations. Locals described him as a “one-man army of the district administration” owing to his on-ground presence and active engagement during the crisis.
During the floods, the ADC personally supervised relief activities and ensured the distribution of essential supplies to affected families.
According to residents, his accessibility and quick response helped deliver immediate assistance to those in need.
Rasheeda Begum, 53, a resident whose house was washed away by floodwaters, said she had no option but to move to Lahore with her paralyzed son after losing everything.
“When I returned to Swat and shared my ordeal with ADC Nauman Ali Shah, he immediately provided me with non-food relief items on an emergency basis. I am satisfied with his performance,” she told this correspondent.
Abdul Qadar, a resident of Makanbagh, said his house was damaged in the floods but first, he missed out on the distribution process.
“When my case came to the notice of the ADC, then I received the relief package. I am very satisfied with his work,” he said.
Local elders and members of civil society have called on the provincial government to recognise the ADC Nauman Ali shah services and to encourage such officers, who play a vital role in implementing government policies effectively and delivering timely relief to the people.
