Provincial Coordinator of Pakistan International Human Rights Islamabad (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) Zahid Hussain Safi has said that Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University Peshawar Dr. Ziaul Haq has been given another illegal extension of three years in December 2022 by the previous PTI government.
This is against Khyber Medical University Act and Higher Education Commission norms Extension is always given in the last days of tenure based on performance. But a year and a half ago, the previous government has given extension. He said that the term of the present chancellor is ending on March 17, 2024.
But in December 2022, it has been extended for three years, which means that this vice chancellor will continue to work illegally till 2028. Full action should be taken by taking action. Otherwise, court will be taken against him soon.
