Three shopkeepers of Landi Kotal Bazaar were fined for charging an additional price of vegetables here on Sunday.
Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC)Landi Kotal Ashrafuddin flanked by naib-Tehsildar Torkham Ghuncha Gul raided various sections of the Bazaar and checked the price lists of different commodities especially the edibles and examined its quality.
During the inspection three grocers were caught red handed while selling tomatoes at a high price. However after assurance that they will strictly follow the price lists issued by the local administration, they were fined and set free.
The administrative official urged the consumers to check the price lists before buying commodities particularly food items and in case of violation, complaint to the high-up to discourage the hoarders and profiteers.
He warned the shopkeepers to avoid charging extra price and supply hygienic edibles to the customers in the holy month of Ramadan.
The officials also asked the shopkeepers to adopt all precautionary measures to curtain spread of dengue. They inspected the potable water storage tanks in the Bazaar and emptied those boilers, placed without covers.
