Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan on Friday said the timely completion of clean drinking water and sanitation projects was among the provincial government’s top priorities and assured that all available resources would be utilized to address public issues.
He expressed these views during a meeting with former Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Arbab Asim Khan at his office, where matters of mutual interest and ongoing public welfare projects were discussed in detail, a handout said.
During the meeting, Arbab Asim Khan highlighted the progress on various schemes being executed by the Public Health Engineering Department in his constituency and stressed the need for the immediate release of funds to ensure their timely completion.
He requested the provincial minister to facilitate the prompt provision of required resources so that basic facilities, including clean drinking water and sanitation, could be made available to the public without delay.
Speaking on the occasion, Fazal Shakoor Khan assured that the provincial government was taking effective measures to improve basic civic facilities and directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely release of funds for ongoing and pending schemes.
The minister said the provision of clean drinking water and an efficient sanitation system were among the government’s foremost responsibilities and warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
He added that uninterrupted execution of development projects would be ensured to provide maximum relief to the public.
