KHYBER: Remaining suspended for three days due to clash of the Pak-Afghan border forces, the Torkham border was resumed for pedestrians as well as for traffic movement. An official of the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) in Torkham said that after approval of the officials of the both countries, the Torkham border was resumed and pedestrians stuck at the border were permitted to cross-in or out. Hundreds of Afghan citizens stranded at the border crossed it to their home country, a taxi driver in Torkham Din Muhammad said. A customs official confirmed that Kabul bound vehicles carrying export cargo, cleared by the customs officials and containing Temporary Admission Document (TAD) were also let to cross the border to Afghanistan and in the same way trucks loaded with imports carrying TAD crossed into the import terminal for necessary examination. It is to be stated here that on 12 August, 2024, arm clash took place between Pak and Afghan border forces when the later started constructing a checkpoint in the prohibited area at Pak-Afghan sharing border, Torkham.
