Tourism Police launches to depute them on tourist destinations in KP

Tourism Police under the direction of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan and on the efforts of Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Tahir Khan Orakzai, a regular tour of the Tourism Police inaugurated here on Thursday.
In this regard, the inauguration ceremony was held at Arena Hall of Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar in which Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority Muhammad Abid Khan Wazir and Commandant Tourism Police Gul Syed Afridi were the special guests.
He was accompanied by Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority Yousuf Ali, General Manager Planning and Marketing Hayat Ali Shah, Deputy Commandant Tourism Police Shaukat Ali, Director Admin and HR Amjad Khan, Deputy Director Vigilance Qaiser Khattak, DSP Imtiaz Khan and other important personalities.
Tourism Police Force have launched for the convenience of tourists in the province. In the first phase of Tourism Police, 182 out of 200 youths from different districts ensured their attendance and were provided with Tourism Police track suits and shoes. A two-day training session was held in Peshawar on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony. Addressing the inaugural function, DG Tourism Muhammad Abid Khan Wazir said that the youth recruited in the tourism police would be a positive face of the province who would be helpful to the tourists visiting here.
Tourism Police is not a normal job but young people have to prove themselves with their work as the youth of Rescue 1122 and other agencies have proved themselves in the province through their services.
Gul Syed Afridi, Commandant Tourism Police said that they have reached this place with their hard work and dedication. The Tourism Police would ensure safety to tourists in tourism season and short term, immediately after the basic training of these youngsters, they will be assigned duty for tourist services in tourist places while after the season, in the second phase, they will have training for capacity building.
Commandant Tourism Police Gul Syed Afridi said that along with providing 150cc motorcycles and pick-up vehicles to the youths, the communication system would be made functional while B69mm pistols would also be provided to them soon. Finally, he said that the Tourism Police would be deployed towards tourist destinations where they would serve as a tourist support force.
