PESHAWAR
In a simple but impressive ceremony at Paraplegic Center Hayatabad Peshawar the Chief Executive Dr. Muhammad Ilyas Syed and Motivational Speaker Arshad Tafhim gave cash prizes and certificates of appreciation to two young workers of the centre who braved a successful rescue operation in an on- fire house and even got injured during the rescue process.
They also lauded the high spirit of all the workers who participated and saved precious human lives in this operation.
It is to be noted that the workers of Paraplegic Center Peshawar performed an extraordinary task the other day when fire broke out in a house adjacent to the center in which the whole family was trapped.
The staff at the center not only immediately tipped Rescue 1122 and other agencies concerned but also rushed to save the lives of the families caught in the flames.
They managed to save dozens of people trapped in the flames before the fire could spread which later engulfed the entire house in moments. Later rescue 1122 personnel also reached and the fire fighting process was completed.
Although a 3-year-old girl was burnt to death in the tragic incident, more than a dozen house inmates including elders, women and children were rescued by the paraplegic center staff.
Even two young workers of the center sustained serious injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
The people gathered at the scene highly appreciated the spirit of the workers of the paraplegic center for promptly responding to the incident and saving the precious lives of the inmates. They demanded proper encouragement for these workers on the government level saying that the job done by the workers deserved a bigger reward.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ilyas Syed, the head of the organization, assured that he would also recommend due encouragement at the government level to all the workers including the two injured heroes of the Center for Saving Precious Human Lives.
