Like other parts of the country 27th October was observed black day by the locals to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
In this connection a protest rally was taken out from the tehsil compound to Landi Kotal bazar that was attended by city mayor Haji Shah Khalid, assistant commissioner(AC),Landi Kotal,Irshad Mohmand,additional AC Ashrafuddin,tehsil municipal officer(TMO)Shehbaz Khan,president Anjumane Tajeran Landi Kotal beside number of people from different walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion Haji Shah Khalid and others said that the whole nation stands with the Kashmiris muslims till they get their independence from India.
The day marks the tragedy when the Indian forces landed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on 27th, October, 1947 and subjugated the innocent people of Kashmir forcibly,they remarked.
The protestors further said that for the last seven and half decades the Kashmiris invlove in struggle to get their freedom,being faced worst kind of Indian state terrorism, however the civilized world have kept silence on it that is injustice to them.
They urged the western world to adopt all necessary initiatives to grant the Kashmiris muslims the right to decide their future through plebiscite .
The participents while carrying banners inscribed with slogans against state terrorism is being perpetrated against the defenseless people of occupied Kashmir by the Indian army.
The rally dispersed peacefully after offering prayers for the independence of Kashmir.
