Tribesmen protest against lacking of health facilities in Landi Kotal

KHYBER AGENCY:A protest demonstration of Pakistan Peoples Party(PPP)workers was held in the bazaar on Sunday against poor performance of Agency Headquarter Hospital,Landi Kotal.
Beside numbers of the PPP volunteers, workers of Khyber Youth Forum(KYF) and members of the civil society participated in it.
Holding banner and placards inscribed with slogans against lacking of health facilities in the hospital, the participants marched from marched from Bacha Khan Chowk to press club where the rally culminated into a public gathering.
Addressing to the demonstrators, speakers including PPP President Hazrat wali Afridi,Gul Bahadar President KYF,Amir Afridi and Shah Rehman Shinwari said that being headquarter the hospital has to facilitate the tribal but ironically it has shortage of Gynecologist,Surgeon doctor and numbers of specialists doctors that compels the tribesmen to shift their minor status of patients to Peshawar. Instead of attending the officials duties in their respective positions in the hospital, they perform private practices to earn more, they accused.
They warned that the proposed government policy of privatizing the hospital would be opposed on every plat form.
The tribesmen asked for peaceful resolution of the border issue and stressed for resumption of the Torkham border to save the tribesmen from starving.
The alleged the political administration and the setting parliamentarians for turning blinds eyes towards the problems of the masses.
They demanded of the health department to adopt positive steps to make the hospital a health relief for the locals otherwise they would come out on roads for their rights.
