PESHAWAR(PR): University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar will start two engineering programs at its new Campus in Dir from September 2017. This was stated by the Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain while addressing the closing ceremony of the Tour of UET Students to Kumrat Valley organized under the British Council’s Active Citizens Programme in collaboration with UET Peshawar. The tour was partially partially funded by the Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The 6-day visit of the students of Computer Systems Engineering Department led by their chairman Dr. Laiq Hasan was named ‘Exploring the Unexplored’. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain appreciated the efforts of Dr. Laiq Hasan for adopting the British Council’s Active Citizens Programme and made it part of the syllabus of his department.
The Vice Chancellor also hoped that other departments of the university will adopt the Active Citizens Program.
Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Prof. Dr. Sahar Noor, Director UET Hiking Club Engr. Siddique Akbar, representative of British Council Malik Waseem, Senior GM Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sajjad Ali Shah, members of computer society large number of students and faculty members were also present on the occasion.
It is to mention here that UET Peshawar is the first University to complete its Social Action Projects under the Active Citizens Program.
