Women theft gang held, stolen gold recovered

PESHAWAR: On the directives of SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif, a special police team successfully arrested a group of women thieves involved in stealing gold ornaments, cash, and valuables from women in Saddar’s commercial markets, Shafi Market, and the BRT system. The special team, led by DSP Cantt Circle Arbab Naeem Haider and comprising SHO Police Station West Noor Muhammad Khan, Lady Police officers, and investigation officers, tracked down the culprits using modern investigative techniques and CCTV footage from various locations, including Shafi Market, Saddar Bazaar, Fawara Chowk, and BRT stations. The arrested women, identified as wife of Shabbir; wife of Sudir; and wife of Liaquat, are residents of Kashti Pul Camp, Nowshera District. During interrogation, they confessed to their crimes. Police recovered Rs 437,000 in cash, which they had obtained by selling stolen jewelry. The accused have been transferred to the Women Police Station for further investigation. The crackdown followed a complaint by wife of Muhammad Fahim, who reported the theft of her gold ornaments at Police Station West (Gharbi), prompting authorities to register a case and initiate the investigation.
