In the important match of the ICC World Cup, the teams of Pakistan and New Zealand will compete today (Saturday).
The national team will take on New Zealand at the M.Channaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru at 1:30 p.m.
The Pakistani team needs a must-win in the match to keep their hopes of playing the semi-finals of the event alive.
The teams of Pakistan and New Zealand have faced each other 9 times in ODI World Cup competitions, where the green shirts have a heavy weight.
In the year 2011, New Zealand last defeated Pakistan in the World Cup competitions while Pakistan defeated to the Kiwis in 2019.
It should be noted that on the points table, Pakistan is fifth with 6 points with 3 wins in 7 matches while New Zealand is occupying the fourth position with 8 points with 4 victories in 7 matches.
The two teams have been competing against each other in ODI World Cup competitions since 1983, where Pakistan has won 9 matches while New Zealand has won just 2 matches.
Meanwhile, rain is also predicted during this important match of the World Cup.
Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium has a special system ready to protect the match from rainwater.
According to the Chinnaswamy Stadium staff, the ‘sub-air system’ installed in the ground will not allow standing water in the field.
According to the staff, as soon as the rain starts, the sub-air system will start automatically and the ground will be made playable within 15 to 20 minutes after the rain stops.
According to the ground staff, under this system, pipes can remove 10,000 liters of water in a minute.
Sub-air system was installed in Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2016.
