KP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur has urged the youth to focus on sports as well as education as, he said, a healthy body is just as important for an educated mind.
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of Saqib Zia Cricket Tournament in Dera Ismail Khan as the Chief Guest which was held at the Sports Ground of the local government school. On this occasion Faisal Amin Gandapur also watched the final match of the tournament which was played between Wazir XI and Semi XI and after an interesting contest the latter won with very low margin.
The provincial minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government was paying equal attention to the promotion of education and sports in the province and a huge portion of the KP fiscal budget had been allocated for this purpose.
He said that his local government department has also recently approved a new plan with a cost of Rs. 1700 million wherein two sports grounds would be constructed in every district of the province including merged districts so that our children and young people have plenty of opportunities for sports and entertainment.
Later, Faisal Amin Gandapur distributed prizes and trophies among the winners. Chairman of the tournament Board of Governors Raza Khan Gandapur, Minister Local Government Coordinator Amjad Khan and Personal Secretary Asif Khan also gave shields to the players.
