KHYBER: Ten candidates have filed nomination papers for National Assembly (NA) seat 43 Khyber 1 for bye polls, returning officer issued notice here on Thursday. It is to be mentioned here that constituency NA-43 comprises subdivisions of Landi Kotal and Jamrud although Bara subdivision will have a separate electorate. The seat was evacuated due to resignation tendered by the ex- Federal Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri of Pakistan Tehreeke Insaf(PTI). The public notice stated that Pir Noorul Haq Qadri of PTI,Chairman Tehreek Islahaat Pakistan(TIP)Haji Shahjee Gul Afridi,Nosherwan Shinwari of Pakistan Muslim League,Nawaz(PML-N) were among the candidatures who filed their nomination papers. According to the election commission, Khyber scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted on February 13, 2023 while the last date for filing appeals will be on Feb 16, 2023. In the same way Feb 22, 2023 will be the last date of withdrawal of candidature and publication of final list. On Feb 23, 2023 symbols will be allotted to the candidates and election will be held on March 16, 2023. Election commissioner, Khyber Shahid Ali said that numbers of total registered voters are 296129 and the election will be conducted as per 2017 census. In the 2018 elections Noorul Haq Qadri of PTI won the election by beating Haji Shahjee Gul Afridi. Our Correspondent
