Lahore High Court (LHC) while ordering all the schools to re-register within one month has directed that the registration of schools which are not implementing school bus policy be suspended.
Justice Shahid Karim of LHC took up for hearing petitions seeking court’s orders for eradication of smog Monday.
Petitions were filed by citizen Haroon Farooq and others.
Secretary Schools Education Khalid Nazir Wattoo appeared in the court.
Hassan Ejaz advocate represented Punjab government.
Secretary Schools Education Khalid Nazir Wattoo presented proposed rules regarding private schools.
During hearing of the case the court remarked we have evolved policy that if there are buses of schools then there will be registration of schools.
Upon it secretary education said we are making buses mandatory for registration of new schools.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked “ Make the rules. I don’t believe in SOPs. The matter of school buses is very serious. Schools owners have too much money. We have to get implement all orders before the next season.

Secretary schools replied Aitchison school falls under the jurisdiction powers of High Education Department.
Justice Shahid Karim directed counsel for Punjab government to inform the institution of the policy changes.
He further observed the matter of environment has become very serious. No more time be wasted on it.
The court remarked there are terminals of buses and societies on Multan road. Traffic rules are not being implemented therein.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked during the hearing of the case that he is happy that government is taking good steps for controlling fog.
The court ordered all the schools to get them register again within one month.
The court directed secretary education the registration of the school which does not pursue bus policy be suspended.
The court directed DG LDA to review roads of Lahore besides seeking traffic plan.
