MINGORA: Following the recent devastating floods, the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Swat has launched a large-scale clean-up and rehabilitation operation in Mingora and adjoining areas. So far, more than 1.7 million tons of debris have been cleared, with 85 percent of the affected areas already cleaned. The ongoing operation includes cleaning houses, streets, and roads, as well as restoring the damaged drainage system to ease difficulties for residents. According to the WSSC spokesperson, over 700 personnel were taking part in the operation, supported by 190 small and large vehicles. Markets, streets, and roads are being cleared of mud and debris to restore public transport and daily life. Floods also damaged 43 WSSC tube wells, of which 31 have been restored with electricity. Six more have been activated through generators, while four drip lines and two water bowsers are ensuring the supply of clean drinking water. WSSC officials said the organization will continue its field efforts until all flood-affected areas are fully cleared and rehabilitated. DLP Report
