Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Science & Information Technology, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, along with Chairman Mardan Board, Prof. Jhan Zeb, formally inaugurated the Free WiFi service at Mardan Board and jointly addressed the ceremony. On this occasion, Additional Secretary IT Shiraz Khan, MD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board Dr. Akif, and other senior officials were also present.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said that the provincial government is committed to ensuring that every public institution provides modern, transparent, and efficient services to the people. He explained that the provision of Free WiFi at Mardan Board aims to facilitate students’ online admissions, enrollment, and other academic activities so that students, particularly female students, do not have to rely on external internet cafés and can benefit from safe and reliable online facilities.
He further noted that this service is being provided because mobile network issues are common these days, and when there is no connectivity available at the Board, students face serious difficulties in carrying out online admissions and other academic tasks.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz added that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has also pledged to provide Free WiFi at all public places across the province to relieve citizens from the recurring disruptions and outages of mobile networks. He emphasized that this facility will benefit not only the general public but also students and researchers by creating new opportunities for education and research.
He stated that the government’s goal is to fully digitize all educational boards of the province, including the Mardan Board. For this purpose, facilities like e-enrollment, online results, and a comprehensive paper bank are being introduced to ensure transparency, merit, and an exam system free of corruption. He explained that the new paper bank will be capable of generating unique papers for over one hundred thousand students at the click of a button, while exam duty allotments will be managed through an impartial, merit-based online system.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz further stressed that the provincial government is committed, in line with the vision of Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, to providing modern facilities to citizens at their doorstep. He noted that the introduction of Free WiFi and digitization initiatives at Mardan Board will serve as a model for other boards and districts of the province, helping restore the trust of students, parents, and teachers in the examination system.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants inspected the newly launched Free WiFi facility, while the Special Assistant reaffirmed the government’s resolve to accelerate the digitization of the examination system across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with all stakeholders.
