A total of 809 people arrested, 18 FIRs registered, no MPAs, MNAs in arrestees

A total of 809 people have been arrested by the Police that were involved in violent protests on May 9 with a total of 18 FIRs of terrorism related to violent protests registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a report issued by Police said here Sunday. According to the report, a total of 809 people were arrested including 5 in Peshawar region, 4 in Kohat region
and 3 in Mardan region with FIRs having been registered in terrorism cases, the report said.
Besides 267 in Peshawar, 216 in Mardan, 114 people have been arrested in Kohat, the Police report said.
All the provincial ministers and most of the assembly members named in the FIRs are absconding since May 9, a top Police official told media men. He also clarified that despite names in the FIRs, no MPs or MNAs were arrested so far.
