PESHAWAR: In the light of the orders of the provincial government, a meeting regarding illegal housing societies was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dir Upper Muhammad Arif Khan here on Thursday. District Architect Muhammad Farooq gave a briefing regarding Local Government Act Private Housing Societies Management and Regulation Rules 2021. The Scrutiny Committee of Housing Society includes the Department of Agriculture, Forest, Irrigation and Department of Environment. Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower instructed all Tehsil Municipal Officers that they should survey their respective areas and compile and submit reports on legal and illegal housing societies next week. He said Category A, B and C should also be determined in the survey and should give notice to all illegal housing societies and till further order no NOCs should be granted besides stopping of building, buying and selling in them.
He said advertisements regarding illegal housing societies would be issued so that people do not invest their precious capital in these illegal housing societies and action will be taken against TMs who do not take action against illegal housing societies. The meeting was also attended by all stakeholders of various departments.
