Burnt body of missing pregnant woman found in Nowshera

PESHAWAR: The burnt body of a missing pregnant woman was recovered near a stream in Nowshera. On Monday informed that 25-year-old Uzma, who was eight months pregnant, mysteriously disappeared from her home yesterday. She was later found dead with severe burn injuries in the jurisdiction of Nowshera Cantt Police Station. Her husband, Yasin, son of Javed, stated that Uzma left home for unknown reasons and her mobile phone was switched off. “We searched everywhere—neither did she went to her parental home nor came back to herresidence. This morning, we were informed that her burnt body had been discovered,” he said. Police arrived at the scene and shifted the body for post-mortem examination. An investigation into various possible angles of the case has been launched. According to the DSP Cantt, Uzma had left the house with her sister-in-law. Her charred body was found near a water channel (Khwar) today. “Further details will be revealed after the post-mortem report is completed,” the DSP added. APP
