Special Assistant to the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Housing and Transport Zafar Ullah Khan Umarzai on Tuesday advocated for expeditious progress in the development of the inaugural phase of the Mega City Nowshera Housing Project.
During the meeting, Umarzai emphasized the importance of expediting the first phase of the Mega City Nowshera housing scheme, urging the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Authority (KPHA) officials to complete the initial phase promptly and initiate preparations for the next phase.
Dr. Ambar Ali Khan, Secretary of the Housing Department, Javed Ali, Additional Secretary, Roshan Mehsood, Director General of KPHA, Imran Wazir, Additional Director General, and other authority officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting included a comprehensive briefing by the secretary on the Mega City project. The first phase of the scheme, situated on 1000 acres of land (with potential for expansion), has been officially launched and advertised following approval from the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The necessary land has already been transferred to KPHA, and the authority has received a total of 3503 applications.
This housing scheme stands out in Pakistan as it is designed to provide land for parks, public spaces, and various amenities. Furthermore, the meeting delved into discussions about the infrastructure costs for Phase I, encompassing road construction, utility provision such as electricity, telecommunications, gas, and protective walls, among other aspects.
