Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a meeting with Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to discuss pressing electricity issues, load management, and recovery of arrears, SAID A HANDOUT.
PESCO presented a three-month plan outlining strategies to address challenges in the electricity sector. The meeting also discussed an incentive mechanism for officials linked to the recovery campaign and participation in operations, which the Chief Secretary approved.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of prioritizing meterization to streamline distribution and directed PESCO to effectively manage load and minimize line losses, especially with summer approaching.
PESCO was tasked with facilitating the Peshawar Development Authority in resolving bottlenecks around the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor. The Chief Secretary also stressed the need to promote the use of cables that reduce the risk of line loss and theft.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman BOD PESCO, Additional Chief Secretary Home & Tribal Affairs, Secretary Energy, CEO PESCO, and other officials.
Updates were provided on raids and measures taken to address electricity theft, and the Chief Secretary directed officials to continue these efforts and submit daily reports to his office.
