CTD foils terror bid, arms, ammunition recovered

BANNU:The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Bannu, on Saturday foiled a terrorist attack attempt by recovering a large number of arms and ammunition from the Ghulam Khan area of North Waziristan. According to CTD sources, the weapons included hand grenades, mines and explosives were reportedly buried by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned outfit, in the area. The weapons recovered included 25 anti-personnel mines, eight hand grenades, five kilograms of explosives. Earlier on December 22, last year, ten terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Gwargo, Awaran, Balochistan, said Inter-Services Public Relations in a press release. According to details, the security forces conducted an IBO on a terrorist hideout in Gwargo, Awaran. The ISPR release said these terrorists were also involved in a firing incident on security forces which resulted in the martyrdom of Lance Naik Iqbal on December 20 in Awaran. INP
