An important meeting held here on Tuesday with Chief Traffic Officer Qamar Hayat Khan in the chair, reviewed traffic management progress and implementation of “Pahle Salaam Phir Kalam” policy in the provincial metropolis.
The meeting was held in traffic police lines attended by Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters Tayyab Jan, SP Cantt Inayat Ali, SP City Muhammad Saeed, DSPs, and others.
CTO Qamar Hayat Khan directed quarters concerned to ensure the implementation of the Salam Kalam policy in letter and spirit for better results, adding that traffic wardens should treat citizens with respect while maintaining discipline.
According to the vision of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akhtar Hayat Khan, City Traffic Police will make Peshawar a role model for the entire province.
He said that the authorities and officials of City Traffic Police Peshawar should continue to inform the citizens and businessmen about the traffic rules and persuade them to ensure the implementation of the traffic rules including the provision of travel facilities.
Traffic police chief maintained that traffic police should keep a check and balance on the cleared area after the anti-encroachment operations so that no encroachments are established again and ensure parking in the plazas so that the citizens do not park their vehicles on the roadsides.
He furthered that other ongoing campaigns including helmets, seat belts, vehicles with black glasses, overloading, one wheeling and over speeding should be speeded up across the city.
Implementation of traffic rules in the provincial capital was the first priority of City Traffic Police, he asked and added that the traffic wardens adhere to driving rules while traveling.
