PESHAWAR
A five-day adventure program was organized for minority community youth in Galiyat under the annual development initiative of the provincial department of Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs.
According to a statement issued here, more than 200 youth participants, including men and women from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, took part in the program.
The participants belonged to the Christian, Sikh, Kailash, and Hindu communities.
The program aimed to enhance the youth’s mental and physical endurance, self-confidence, and commitment by pushing them out of their comfort zones.
Alongside these objectives, the program focused on promoting tourism, environmental awareness, interfaith harmony, teamwork, and discipline.
Over the five days, participants engaged in a variety of adventure activities in Nathiagali, Changlagali, Dongagali, and nearby areas.
The activities included hiking, trekking, mountain climbing, water crossing, shooting, rope climbing, sack races, and tug of war.
Participants were also briefed about regional tourism, wildlife, climate change, and environmental issues. Experts led sessions on civic responsibilities, the legal use of digital media, and climate change awareness.
A special emphasis was placed on eco-friendliness and tree plantation, with Aqeel Joshi, In-charge of the Tourist Facilitation Center Dongagali, speaking to the group about these vital issues.
A cleanliness campaign was also held in Khanspur, where participants cleaned the Khanspur Cricket Ground and surrounding areas, highlighting the importance of maintaining clean public spaces.
The program concluded with a walk in Nathia Gali Bazar to raise awareness on climate change, cleanliness, and the importance of tree plantation at tourist sites.
