Pakistan came into being on 14th August 1947 as a result of the untired efforts of the founding leader Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices of our ancestors and their head back joint efforts. The day is called as an “Independence Day” and is declared as a public holiday and all the schools, colleges and offices remain closed on this day and the day is celebrated with full heal and zeal all over the country as people come together (show unity) under the green and white flag of Pakistan, with major events that took place at Capital territory Islamabad with Pakistani flags being raised on Parliament and President House. There is patriotic chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” everywhere. Whole Nation celebrates this day as a day of great importance as Muslims of sub-continent got freedom from the British Raj and got their own separate homeland where they could live freely.
The independent and separate homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent was the vary need of the time as they were in minority and were deprived of the basic necessities of their lives and also it was difficult for them even to practice their religion over there so the courage’s leader Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah felt the need of the separate homeland and he then led the movement for the rights of the Muslims of the Subcontinent known as “Pakistan Movement” with the notion that the Muslims of the subcontinent must have their separate home land where they could live according to the ideology of Islam and also where everyone could live free from external control and slavery and make their own decisions but under the British Raj it seemed impossible so the only solution was the separate homeland. So Pakistan got independence after the remarkable efforts of Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah and also the efforts of the great poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal were of great importance in this regard as he through his poetry and poems helped to awake the slept nation and he envisioned a Muslim state in the sub-continent when nobody was thinking about it. He was the harbinger of Pakistan Movement and freedom struggle. So as a result of the joint efforts of the great leaders Muslims of the subcontinent fought for their rights and many sacrificed their lives in the journey to have their separate homeland.
Finally after all the those sacrifices and struggle Pakistan got her independence on 14th August 1947 with Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as the first Governor General of the nascent state the newly born state was faced by vast problems to survive, from un-experienced officials to less government machinery to run the affairs of the state also the influence of some external forces to create more hurdles for the newly born state created many problems for Pakistan to maintain its sovereignty but despite all these problems the great leader did his best during the short period that he lived for the motherland after its creation, he under took despite failing health long and arduous journey to the remotest parts of the country in an effect to keep up the confidence and moral of the people and he did every best thing he could to maintain the dignity of Pakistan and as a result Pakistan emerged as a strong independent state with Quaid’s vision that:
“Pakistan is a state of great importance where all are equal without any differences of religion, cultures and sects. He further said that the great majority of us are Muslims. We follow the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (May peace be upon him). We are members of the brotherhood of Islam in which all are equal in rights, dignity and self-respect. Consequently, we have a special and a very deep sense of unity. But make no mistake: Pakistan is not a theocracy or anything like it.” ― Muhammad Ali Jinnah
