Joint efforts stressed to enhance economic prospects and collaboration between both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab in order to achieve economic growth in both the provinces.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary met with Punjab’s caretaker ministers to explore business opportunities and collaboration for economic growth in both the provinces. The ministers engaged with the business community and Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar, discussed business opportunities in several areas, especially in the agriculture sector.
Highlighting the conducive investment environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Secretary assured provision of necessary facilities for investors, saying that there is huge potential for setting up new factories in special economic zones and industrial estates. He added that women investors are also offered economic opportunities.
Punjab’s Caretaker Minister for Industry, Commerce and Agriculture SM Tanveer said that Punjab has surplus wheat and offered to supply wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He further said that the caretaker government’s agricultural-centric strategy, aims to revitalize the national economy.
Additionally, he mentioned the ongoing development of a ten-year plan in consultation with stakeholders to bolster the agricultural sector’s growth.
Discussing the pivotal role of business activities in stabilizing the economy, SM Tanveer stressed on collective efforts for national progress and prosperity. SM Tanveer stated that Punjab’s government extends all-out support to industrialists to attract new investments in Special Economic Zones(SEZs) and Industrial Estates.
