Islamabad: According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Electric Supply Company IESCO, the distribution system was affected due to heavy rain across the region, especially in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and its surroundings. Faults and trippings reported on numerous underground and overhead feeders and numerous feeders were also shut down due safety. IESCO spokesperson said that due to the accumulation of rain water, the IESCO operation staff was facing difficulties in complaints and fault clearance and still the IESCO operation staff is busy to restore electricity to the affected areas. Spokesman IESCO has requested the customers to follow precautionary and safety measures during the rain and keep proper distance from electric poles, transformers, meters and other installations. Do not touch electricity appliances with a wet body or wet hands. In case of broken electric wire anywhere, do not touch it and report it immediately to the concerned complaint office. Use the best materials for household wiring and keep them updated. Install electric circuits of electricity at a height beyond the reach of young children. Do not bind animals with electric poles or transformers and avoid installation of the houses under or near the electric wires.
