KP govt taking steps for journalist community welfare: Barrister Saif

Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that the provincial government was taking all possible steps to facilitate journalists and ensure funds availability for construction, renovations and availability of buildings for press clubs across the province.
He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PTI) believed in freedom of speech and rights of journalist’s community.
He expressed these views during a meeting with the cabinet and senior journalists of Tehsil Lahore Swabi Press Club in his office.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, the province is achieving new millstones in development and prosperity,” he added and said that problems being faced by the journalist community would be resolved on priority base.
Tehsil Lahore Swabi Press Club president Lajabr Khan, General Secretary Mohammad Siyar, Vice President Zafraqbal Sayal, Deputy General Secretary Rooh Ul Amin, Senior Journalist Anwar Haq, Press Secretary Istikhar Ahmad Yousafzai and Niaz Mir Khan met with Barrister Saif.
The delegation informed about the problems faced by the journalists associated with Tehsil Lahore Swabi Press Club.
The Special Assistant assured the delegation of quick resolution of the issues and quick steps to be taken regarding the building of the Press Club.
On this occasion, Muhammad Ali Saif said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the problems of journalists in the province are being solved on a priority basis while the press clubs are being made active with full capacity.
The Department of Information and Public Relations is bringing a plan to provide modern facilities to journalists in KP press clubs.
Mr Saif also appreciated the services of Farmanullah Niazi, Bureau Chief for Italy and senior journalist of ARY News, saying that they were playing an important role in bringing the voice of Pakistanis abroad to higher authorities.
