An important meeting held here on Wednesday with Minister for local government Arshad Ayub Khan in the chair, reviewed the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) administrative, financial, operational and other issues.
Member of National Assembly (MNA) Arbab Sher Ali, MNA Asif Khan, Secretary local government Dawood Khan, Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Masood and other officials were present in the meeting.
The officials of the WSSP gave a detailed briefing to the Provincial Minister on their Officials while giving a briefing that said that 4000 employees are performing their services in WSSP.
Officials added that the authority is covering 2.1 million people and work on the solar system is going on in this regard. On this occasion, Commissioner Peshawar while giving a briefing to the provincial minister shared that the service delivery fee has been increased from 300 to 440 rupees, which has increased the income.
The meeting was informed that every year, WSSP employees conduct non-stop cleaning campaigns on Eid festivals and special days and also conduct awareness campaigns with scholars, school children and media representatives. WSSP also requested release of 620 million rupees in the new financial year.
On this occasion, provincial minister Arshad Ayub Khan said that the operation against encroachments is the need of the hour and soon Commissioner Peshawar, Member of the National and Provincial Assembly Peshawar, along with Secretary Local Government will visit the Peshawar city.
Arshad Ayub Khan said that providing facilities to the people of KP was the first priority of the provincial government, adding that all available resources would be utilised to make Peshawar the city of flowers again and improve the sanitation system throughout the province.
