North Waziristan Major General Naeem Akhtar has been transferred and new GOC Major General Anjum Riaz has taken charge as GOC Seven Division.
A solemn change of command ceremony was held at Miranshah Tuchi Hall in which government officials and tribal elders participated.
Former GOC Major General Naeem Akhtar handed over the command to the new GOC. Major General Anjum Riaz while addressing the ceremony said that
People and security agencies will establish peace in North Waziristan together.
Restoring peace, development and prosperity is the common responsibility of all of us. The sacrifices of the people and the security agencies for the eradication of terrorism are eternal, therefore, security must be established in every case and the scourge of terrorism will be eradicated.
Taking North Waziristan on the path of development and prosperity is the top priority, he emphasized on the importance of media. And said that there is a need to present a positive image of the region to the world through the media.
