PESHAWAR: Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Khalid Iqbal on Thursday chaired a meeting to discuss preparations being made for Independence Day August celebrations. The meeting was also attended by Town Municipal Administration, District Education Officers and officials of concerned departments. Chairing the meeting, DC issued special directives to make arrangements and celebrate Independence Day in a befitting manner. He said that special functions relating to day would be arranged in schools and educational institutions. He said these special events should also be held to aware younger generation about struggle of forefathers to create a separate homeland for Muslims of subcontinent and our responsibilities for the country.
