Meeting reviews epidemic prevention measures in Swat

Deputy Commissioner Saleem Jan Marwat chaired a special meeting to discuss preventive measures against potential epidemics in flood-affected areas.
The meeting reviewed the possible outbreak of diseases, their timely detection, and response strategies.
The participants included Deputy District Health Officer Swat, WHO Area Coordinator, Divisional EPI Officer, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital Saidu Sharif, and representatives from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Briefing the meeting, the Deputy District Health Officer and WHO Area Coordinator highlighted the risk of malaria, dengue, diarrhea, cholera, waterborne diseases, vector-borne diseases, skin diseases, and other infectious diseases spreading in flood-affected areas.
They emphasized that timely detection, effective preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and prompt reporting are essential to controlling these diseases.
DC Swat assured full cooperation from the district administration and directed relevant departments to remain alert and ensure timely and effective measures to protect public health.
