In order to ensure the peaceful celebration of Muharram in Peshawar, the provincial capital, Peshawar Police has started a series of meetings to take people from various schools of thought into confidence and full cooperation, including the business community.
During the meeting, suggestions were taken from the leaders of all business organizations and their problems were taken into consideration, while the necessary suggestions were also decided to be included in the security plan.
In this regard, separate meetings were held with the delegations of business organizations of the city in Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines under the leadership of SSP Operations Haroon-ul-Rashid Khan.
On this occasion, SP Faqirabad Division Dr. SP City Abdul Salam Khalid, SP Security Mohammad Atiq Shah, SDPOs and the delegations of the visiting business community, including presidents of various markets and other business leaders were also present. Peshawar Police is using all the machinery for peace.
In view of this, during Muharram, more CCTV cameras are being installed at important places in the city, including religious places of worship, through which all routes including markets will be monitored, as well as inside the city. Tenants staying in hotels, inns across the district are being re-evaluated.
SSP Operations Haroon Rashid Khan said that operations have been started against criminals involved in applied for motorcycles, double riding, weapons display and other activities, snap checking.
To make Muharram-ul-Haram peaceful, Peshawar police is making better security arrangements and using all the available resources, for which the cooperation of businessmen is very important, he added.
Police patrols including Ababil Squad, City Patrolling have been increased in all important and densely populated bazaars and narrow and dark streets, which will further improve the law and order situation, including various suggestions from the delegations of business organizations during the meeting.
The problems faced were also brought to the notice of the SSP Operations on which they assured to solve all the problems on priority basis.
