PTI has sent reference against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja to Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
PTI has taken plea in the reference which has been filed through Baba Awan that the CEC is indulging in maladministration deliberately and not performing his constitutional obligations in befitting manner. Therefore, he should be removed from his office.
The meeting of ruling alliance with the CEC has also been mentioned in the reference.
It has been said in the reference a representative delegation of PDM had met CEC last month and they pressurized CEC to announce the decision of prohibited funding case soon. The decision of the case was announced few days after meeting.
CEC has violated code of conduct of judiciary by holding meeting with the members of Ruling alliance. Meetings cannot be held during the pending cases. It is code of ethics.
