Reforms are inevitable to bring transparency in electoral system: Faiq

Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has suggested simultaneous conduct of election in all provinces and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan so that rights should be ensured on equitable and balanced grounds.
Shah asked to immediately bring reforms and make the electoral system transparent.
Furthermore, demanded an end to the intervention of wealth, rigging and pressure so that it can pave the way for those people who really want to work for people’s rights and competent ones to come forward.
The ATP chairman made it clear that chaos and division are unaffordable for the country.
A major reforms in electoral reforms is essential through that doors of blackmailing, floor crossing and ‘Lotacracy’ [Switching of loyalties] will be shut forever, Shah emphasizing while responding to various queries of people from different walk of life during public/open forum “Khuli Kachery”, said in a press release here on Sunday.
He added a governance system by government and opposition in a five year term would run as per democratic principles/doctrines.
Similarly, he said rigging, using illegal money, politics-based on personality and interests would be erased forever.
Shah noted public representatives have changed loyalties by switching over other parties, indulging in conspiracies and blackmailing instead of fulfilling the right to public representation.
Likewise, he maintained law and constitution are vehemently violated by public representatives, but no one is questioning them.
Faiq called upon the Election commission to hold political parties answerable on manifesto and action plan/strategy so that people have voted for the manifesto to be implemented with true letter and spirit.
The ATP chairman termed that manifesto, programme and strategy/action plan as crucial in parliamentary democracy.
While giving an example of the British Prime Minister, who had been unable to deliver and decided to step down immediately from the top position of the country, Shah remarked. He said the party itself holds accountability and people ask questions.
However, he said here, the closed door policy and diplomacy being adopted in the government, while people were also deceived by various tactics.
Shah furthermore, added deceit/falsehood, character assassination and looting has given name of politics.
The party leader warned that people couldn’t accept this practice and tendency.
He questioned: “How can progress possible, until and unless removal of people’s deprivations in Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and giving importance and priority to education, employment and business.
The ATP chief went on to say that MNAs, MPAs, ministers, special advisors, and importantly the prime minister of the country are enjoying being like kings and called it as not a democracy but a worst form of fascism and dictatorship.
