PESHAWAR: Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fazal Moqeem Khan urged the government and Orga to determine the shipping tariff of gas while keeping in mind the concerns of the private sector because any increase in tariff would prove detrimental for this important sector. He was speaking during a public hearing of Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) which was held in Peshawar on Wednesday. The agenda of the hearing was to consider Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Company’s (SNGPL) request for determination of transportation tariff to be used for issuing invoices to the shippers, for using pipelines of SNGPL for transportation of their gas under Third party Access regime for FY 2024-25. Fazal Moqeem highlighted the difficulties being faced by the private sector gas producers who ship their gas through SNGPL pipelines. He said that the private sector is barely surviving and any increase in the shipping tariff could prove to be the last nail in the coffin. Earlier, president SCCI Fazal Moqeem Khan attended the pre-board meeting of Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, Haripur (PAF-IAST) held in a local hotel today. The entire agenda of the upcoming 7th Board of Governors Meeting Agenda was discussed and reviewed in the sitting. Later in the day, the President SCCI Fazal Moqeem attended the 7th Board of Governor’s meeting of PAF-IAST, held at Governor House Peshawar.
