Asfandyar Khan says APS tragedy will live in our hearts
PESHAWAR
Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that the martyrs of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar tragedy will always live in our hearts.
“9 years ago on this day, brutal terrorists massacred innocent children and teachers,” he said and added that December 16, 2014 is a dark chapter in history, the brutality that happened on that day is unprecedented and unforgettable.
No one knows the grief of losing our own better than ANP, a party which has sacrificed more than 1200 workers in the war against terrorism, ANP chief said.
In his message on the 9th anniversary of the APS Peshawar tragedy, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan said that after the tragedy, the National Action Plan was implemented with the consensus of all stakeholders.
“After the establishment of the National Action Plan, the nation was satisfied that the problem of terrorism would be taken seriously. Unfortunately, the plan was not implemented in its original spirit,” he said.
Enemies of peace are still active from Waziristan and Chitral to Chaman. Incidents of terrorism and target killing are happening on a daily basis. In the suicide attacks, the general public including the security agencies are being targeted.
Asfandyar Wali Khan demanded the incumbent government to fully implement the National Action Plan. He said that those who resettled terrorists in the province should be accountable. He claimed that more than 40,000 terrorists were resettled in KP in the previous government after being released on presidential order.
All those involved in facilitating the terrorists have to be brought before the nation and without implementation of the National Action Plan peace cannot be restored in the country, ANP chief added.
