A day long book fair was opened here in Bacha Khan Squarer, main Landi Kotal Bazaar on Sunday.
Established under the banner of Khudai Khedmatgar movement district Khyber and large number of books lovers, students, teachers, local political elites visited the stalls and took keen interest in the books displayed there.
This was the first time that a books fair was initiated at the public place where books written on the struggle of the Pakhtun leaders were exhibited.
Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber President Shah Hussain Shinwari formally kicked off the books fair.
In his message on the occasion the ANP leader said that the history was deliberately forged and manipulated to conceal facts and to misguide the coming generation therefore through such kind of doings they could provide opportunity to the people especially the youth community to be aware of the great efforts of their political leaders.
Highlighting aims and purposes of setting up books stall district salaar of Khudai Khedmatgar movement Haji Fazal Rehman said that they conducted the literary activity to create awareness among the young generation of the tribal society about the struggle, carried out by the leaders of the Pakhtun to win rights for them.
He thanked the visitors and valued their participation in the activity that encouraged them to set up it further in the future.
The academic figures in the area appreciated the efforts of the organization and said it would certainly enhance books reading habits among the youth who always engaged in social media.
