Meeting reviews security plan ahead of Muharram

An important meeting held here on Thursday with SP City Division Muhammad Atiq Shah in the chair, reviewed current crime situation, security arrangements, and ensure the maintenance of law and order in light of the upcoming holy month of Muharram.
The meeting was attended by SDPOs, SHOs, outpost in-charges, and designated Muharram security staff from across the City Division.
The primary agenda was to ensure effective coordination among various departments and to re-evaluate the security strategy across key areas.
Detailed discussions were held regarding law and order, with particular focus on reviewing the security of hotels, inns, and residential localities, especially in the inner city. The SP emphasized the need to intensify targeted search and strike operations against criminal elements operating in the division.
SP Muhammad Atiq Shah stated that all necessary measures are being taken for the peaceful observance of Muharram. “We are actively coordinating with all relevant institutions, including religious scholars and community leaders from various sects and schools of thought,” he said.
He reaffirmed that, like previous years, Peshawar Police was fully committed and utilizing all available resources to ensure peace and harmony during Muharram.
