To create consciousness regarding Dengue an open court (Khuli Kachehri) was held here in Raza Khan Kelley, Wali Khel subdivision Landi Kotal, district Khyber last day.
The Kuli Kachehri was attended by Assistant Commissioner,(AC)Landi Kotal Irshad Mohmand,Dr Hidayat of headquarter hospital,Dr Isfaq focal person of Dengue,councillors,teachers,elders and people from different walks of life participated in the moot.
Addressing on the occasion, AC said that the purpose of the gathering was to educate the residents prior to the breaking of the disease and to collectively adopt effective initiatives to curtain it.
The subdivision administrative officer said that they were well aware of the problem and would adopt all necessary steps to halt the spread of the Dengue.
He stressed upon the laymen to strictly follow precautionary measures and symptoms of the Dengue so that it could be treated on time.
The health representative shed light on causes, symptoms and cures of Dengue and said the disease that caused biting of a special mosquito could be curtained by use of net while going to sleep, covering ponds of water in the locality to halt breeding of the mosquito larva and wearing of full sleeves dress.
He urged the masses that in case of getting flu, fever, pain in body etc. immediately contact the nearest doctor because it might be Dengue disease.
Earlier, the participants apprised the AC of their problems who pledged to resolve it.
Meanwhile, a Dengue awareness session was also organized that was attended by large numbers of residents.
The health experts delivered fruitful speeches and voluble information was shared with the attendants to curtain Dengue disease.
It is to be stated here that last year dozens of residents were affected by the disease when it broke out in the village Wali Khel.
